Filter / rate limiting on line down / up events in clueless

Something went nutty a while ago and I got something like 50 emails containing down / up notifications back-to-back. Perhaps some filter with configurable parameters and sensible defaults to protect you. Sending hundreds of tweets / SMS / emails...

We do rate limit SMSs, and maybe Texts too, emails may not be rate limited on purpose though. That said, we are building a new notification system which should have more features, some info here: http://www.revk.uk/2017/03/keeping-customer-informed.html

Commission a new super modem

Commission the development of an extremely high-spec ADSL and VDSL2 modem, perhaps banding together with other ISPs eg through ISPA. Then you could exert some control over quality and have your ideal spec, and get bugs fixed in a timely fashion.

Improve SMS notification of outages

Currently incident.aaisp.net lists all issues and info, this can be SMS'd to a mobile phone via the twitter feed for free however most of the messages are not related to the service we receive as they are country wide. Use targetting...

Additional event logging for VoIP

With syslog enabled for voip, I only seem to have logs for incomming phone calls. It would be useful to have log entries for: * sucessful registrations * failed registrations * outbound phone calls

Use an IPv6 router

I've been looking for an IPv6 DSL router, and it looks like there is a reasonable consumer one. It's called a "FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270" - they have a (beta) IPv6 firmware http://www.avm.de/en/news/artikel/IPv6_Lab.html Is there any chance...

Easier email alias management

It's painful to make changes to several aliases. Just being able to edit the whole lot in a multi-line text field would make a huge difference.

Have more ICMP ECHO targets 81.187.81.188, .189, .190 (etc)

For multi-WAN operation with failover, some firewall software (notably pfSense 2.0.1) needs to be able to ping a different IPs for each WAN link. This is particularly true where each upstream WAN link has the same next-hop IP (81.187.81.187)....

have the option for C&W backhaul on A&A

A&A currently provide the option to use BT or BE lines and there are rumours talktalk may be added to this. I'd like a wider range of options (both for choice and redundancy) and adding C&W to this list would allow a greater choice for customers...

place a monthly cap on my SIP trunk bill, for a number of reasons, but primarily to limit my financial risk in the event of a hack, without having to monitor it carefully.

Allow an account holder to set a hard cap on the monthly bill at which point the service cuts off, for SIP accounts.

register an AAISP PSTN number to a third party SIP server.

It would be useful if there was scope to register to a third party SIP server for each pstn number I rent from AA. Inbound calls could ring the usual list of targets AA allow. I wouldn't need to route out via this but that would be cool too :)...

Make (?) wiki links on clueless open in a new window

Clicking a blue (?) wiki help link in clueless loads it in the same window, potentially losing the authenticated clueless session (eg closing the wiki page when done). Can these links be made to open in a new window (target="_blank") please?

VoIP only ADSL

Would it be possible to sell low costs ADSL lines that are £5 or 10 a month for example that only have say 1GB of usage, and package them as "VoIP only line" ? I don't mean that the line shold be restricted to VoIP communication or to the...

Interesting idea... This would also be good for sites that do low level monitoring of equipment etc. Generally, with using ADSL/FTTC for VoIP, we'd suggest having multiple lines. We'll give it some thought.

Automatically raise a fault within A & A when there is sustained dripping blood in clueless. Thresholds to be determined, hopefully variable.

A (non-functioning) demo mailbox for prospective email customers

If there were an ultra-easy web UI facility to allow access to a demo / dummy email mailbox - that is non-functioning, eg doesn't allow sending email - then prospective customers for email services would be able to check out the related UI within...

One or more dns entries pingable.aa.net.uk

or similar meaningful name as a first-hop within AA-land target for pinging, perhaps a cname to bottomless. Anyway, way you can change its target when you need to. As well, two additional cnames, ipv4.pingable and ipv6.pingable, say, to the same...

Greater control of L2TP logins

Dealer cap options are great, but would be nice to have a few extra options; cap at 10M, 20M, 50M, 100M respectively. Only reason I suggest this, is because I have come across some awkward devices that will not let you change/set line speeds...

change the workding on https://www.s-s-l.co.uk/orderpage.cgi so that it's more obvious that it's for both broadband and "numbers"

At the moment, if you click "order noe" from telecomms, it takes you to the order page that only mentions broadband. If you then log in you get the option to choose "numbers", but it's not clear from the previous page that that will happen. I...

Hide auto-UP and auto-DOWN clueless logs

Whilst the auto-UP and auto-DOWN line entries are helpful, the logs of unstable lines can quickly fill with these and make it very difficult to find other entries. It would be useful to be able to hide these entries.

Temporarily disable IPv6 per line (for routers which barf at the concept)

Sometimes, my firebrick falls over and I need to use a backup router for internet access. The backup router does not support IPv6, so it barfs and refuses to connect when it gets the PPP IPv6 configuration packets. The ability to temporarily...
